Oklahoma beats Harvard in Diamond Head Classic
Behind a career-high 34 points from tournament MVP Buddy Hield, No. 3 Oklahoma won the 2015 Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic title with an 83-71 defeat of Harvard tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Hield, who scored 27 in a three-point semifinal win over host Hawaii on Wednesday, shot 11-for-14 from the field and 9-for-10 from the line.
Guard Jordan Woodard added 28 points on 9-for-13 shooting as OU (11-0) shot 50 percent from the field. The Sooners also beat Villanova in the Pearl Harbor Invitational on Dec. 7.
Harvard (5-7) of the Ivy League made several runs and got within single digits late after falling behind by 20. Forward Zena Edosomwan scored 25 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead the Crimson.
